J.G. & E. E. Betjemann, London. Each side mounted with a plaque, one engraved with the recipient's arms, the other side with a presentation inscription 'Foreign Cattle Market model of barrow used on the occasion of turning the first sod of the new railway 15th December 1898 Thomas Briggs Esqre Chairman of the Cattle Markets Committee of the Corporation of London Sir John Wolfe Barry K.C.B.F.R.S. Engineer. J. Strachan Contractor,' further applied with a small silver retailer's plaque: 'Mappin & Webb 2, Queen Victoria St. E.C.'

Condition

Overall in good condition. Light wear to silver plaques engraved with presentation lettering. Wear and scratches to silver band around the wheel. One port to one side lacking. Two silver bosses as is visible in catalogue illustration. The wheel also lacking one silver boss which is also visible in catalogue illustration. Silver handle with rubbing and wear to the marks.
