Condition
Overall good condition, as stated in the catalogue, the seated figure to the cresting is later, there is a small loss to the top of one of the C-scrolls beneath the seated figure as is illustrated in the catalogue. The left mirror plate is replaced, the upper right and central mirror plate appears to be replaced; the bottom central and right mirror plates are replaced; the other mirror plates have nice old crystallization and losses to silvering and are possibly original; the frame with refreshed gilding but does not appear to have been completely regilded and regessoed. There is a very small loss to leaf tip of right side which has a glued restoration, some leaf tips with glued restorations particularly one to the bottom left corner of apron; the frame appears to be sturdy and with minor age cracks in places; the gilding is attractive and less orange than in the catalogue illustration. The mirror plates more silver and less yellow than in the catalogue illustration. Nice proportions and good carving throughout. The central plate with small losses to silvering as can be seen in the catalogue illustration.
