Description

with an arched back fitted with baluster turned spindles, outscrolled arm terminals, shaped seat, and cabriole legs terminating in pad feet.

Condition

Chair in good condition, with a nice old surface and collar beautifully turned. Seat with typical bruises, wear consistent with age and use and with a thin age crack to front right corner which is stable. Some small repairs at cresting rail with joins to stiles. The back two legs each with a plug at joined rails. Back legs are spliced with some plugs and restorations. Underside of seat with a metal brace in order to correct age crack. One spindle to the back rest possibly replaced. Overall with some nicks, wear and bruises to extremities consistent with age and use.
