Catalogue Note

This is the scarcest issue of the first edition of Conrad's novel. Cagle noted that there were 788 'colonial copies... made at the same time as the domestic printing. These were printed on a lighter weight, cheaper paper and were issued 400 copies in cloth at 2s and 388 in paper wrappers at 1/6'.

Cagle failed to locate copies in either binding. It appears that there are no auction records of this edition and no copies recorded in the major catalogued collections, or in institutions.
