  • impressed PH-2 and PATENTED
  • patinated brass, glass and bakelite

Condition

Overall good original condition. The patinated bronze surfaces of the standard display a deep and rich russet brown patina. The patinated surfaces with some occasional light surface scratches, light rubbing, and surface soiling to the recessed contours of the design consistent with age and gentle use. The top surface of the base with a few more concentrated areas of discoloration, visible in the catalogue illustration on page 24 of the printed catalogue. There is an area of sensitive restoration to restore a minor area of patina loss above the base switch that measures ½ inch in diameter. The sockets and switches appear original and undisturbed. The three glass shades with a few minor scattered surface scratches and minute edge chips, and a few minute scattered air bubbles inherent in the making. The three glass shades differ slightly in hue, with the largest showing a deeper more saturated amber color. The largest glass shade with a currently stable crack that extends from the interior to the outer edge of the shade. The same shade with a few minor edge chips that are not visible once the shade is properly installed in the standard. The smallest shade is an area of impact and prior restoration to stabilize the shade. There are three stabilized cracks to the glass that extend from the interior to the exterior rim and a few smaller radiating stabilised cracks. One area of the interior edge, measuring one inch by 1/8 inch, has been restored with a glass that presents without the frosted treatment of the rest of the shade. An iconic table lamp form by Poul Henningsen.
