Oil on canvas, not lined. Surface in generally good condition, colors are lively and fresh. Impasto is well maintained. Some minor areas of craquelure, particularly visible in the black pigments. Under UV light; no apparent inpainting visible.

American Friends of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (AFIPO) is a non-profit organization dedicated to support the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (IPO) is the leading orchestra in Israel and globally recognized as a world-class symphonic ensemble. The Orchestra performs in Israel and tours extensively around the world. The IPO is unique in its cultural diversity with members of the Orchestra representing over 15 different nationalities. AFIPO seeks to strengthen and broaden the reach of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra as the preeminent cultural ambassador for the State of Israel and expanding the support of classical music and musical education in Israel.
Born in Israel in 1938, Rubin studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna (1957-58), at the Avni Institute of Art, Tel Avivi (1962-66) and at the Royal College of Art, London (1967-68). Yadid Rubin lives and works in Kibbutz Givat Haim Ichud and his paintings refer to the landscape surrounding his studio. His works use the landscape as a canvas from which to explore color, patterns and basic forms, which are painted with repetitive bursts of energy.
