probably Longton Hall, the cover of each applied with a cluster of lemon blossoms and leaves forming the knop.
Provenance
D. M. & P. Manheim Antiques, New York.
Condition
The yellow enamel of all four boxes and covers has misfired, giving them a pitted appearance in places. There re chips and losses to the applied flowers and leaves of the knops of the covers; one cover as a 1/2-in. chip and a minor short haircrack to the flange and 1 3/4-in. slice chip to the rim edge, another has a small glazed-over factory-related chip to the flange. One box has a very fine short haircrack to the rim at one end, visible on the interior but not readily apparent on the exterior; another box has an extended forking discolored haircrack running around the sides and into the base, and a second 1-in. haircrack to the rim, both of which are readily visible on the interior but only in places on the exterior; the other three boxes are in generally good condition.
