Condition

The Meissen pineapple box and cover: The cover: There are restored chips to the leaves at the top of the pineapple and one leaf has its tip chipped away. The rim edge of the cover has restoration to approximate 3/4 of its circumference, possibly covering chips. The box: There is an approximate 1-inch chip to the edge expanding into the interior of the rim, which is not very apparent from the exterior. There is 1/8-inch flat chip to the rim edge. There is some very minor and occasional wear to the enamels at high points of the pineapple. The Continental pineapple box and cover: The cover: Several leaves at the top have been chipped away from earlier restorations and there are restored chips to the tips of most of the other leaves; the restorations are old and have discolored. There is an approximate 1/4-inch flat chip to the underside of the rim edge, showing approximately 1/8 inch on the exterior of the rim edge. There is another 1/8-inch rim chip. The box: There is an approximate 5-inch long restoration in the interior of the box, running across the base and going upwards halfway on the sides, possibly to cover a firing crack and further associated haircracks. There is some very minor and occasional wear to the enamel at the high points, which is not disfiguring. Otherwise in good condition.
