A translation John Ray's posthumous work Synopsis avium, 1713, considerably expanded by Francois Salerne. The 30 plates showing 100 figures of birds were drawn by and after Martinet, one of the greatest French ornithological artists of the 18th century.
Rare deluxe copy which were "issued in a morocco binding with the plates colored by hand" (Keynes).
