Condition

Oil on canvas, not lined. Canvas is slightly slack on the stretcher, edges are worn. Some minor bumping visible in upper right corner. Surface in generally good condition, some scattered areas of loss, particularly around the extreme edges from framing. Scattered fine craquelure visible throughout the canvas, particularly in areas of thickly applied paint.

Catalogue Note

Les Rebattières was owned by the artist's mother and surrounded by the beautiful Drôme landscape, an area of France that is rich in greenery. Cathelin loved this place, his native country, and often went there to rest and work.
