Executed on paper laid down on canvas (not lined). There is an artist's pinhole in each corner. Minor frame abrasion along the extreme edges (mostly the left edge) and two hairline tears to the sheet on the figure's forehead and cheek. Faint flattened crease running diagonally across the lower left corner and another running vertically along the lower left edge. Small area of shrinkage to the tip of the figure's nose, on his neck and in the blue pigment level with his eyes. Some scattered tiny spots of paint-loss to the upper layer of paint in the blue pigment to the left of the figure's face and shoulder, to the left eyebrow, at the bridge of his nose, towards the center of the upper edge and in the light-blue pigment near the crown of the head. Under UV light: no signs of inpainting are apparent. This work is in overall good original condition.
