Work is backed with cotton. There is some minor surface dirt throughout. No tears. Overall the work is in excellent condition.

This tapestry is based on the 1936 painting La Nature à l'aurore by Max Ernst (Werner Spies, Max Ernst, Oeuvre-Katalog, Werke 1929-1938, Cologne, 1978, no. 2269). It is a collaborative work woven by Yvette Cauquil-Prince under the supervision of Max Ernst.
