Condition
The canvas is not lined and stretched on its original stretcher. There are two patched reinforcements on the reverse of the canvas. The reinforcement to the upper left, in the yellow house, corresponds with what is most likely a dent, with an associated nail-head sized loss that has not been retouched. The other reinforcement to the upper right similarly addresses a dent, though no visible losses to the surface are evident. There is a layer of varnish preventing UV light from fully penetrating, but UV examination reveals two small spots of retouching towards the extreme lower left corner and one pinhole which has been retouched.. There is some minor paint shrinkage and some very fine stable craquelure in places, mainly to the lower part of the composition. This work is in generally good condition.
