Condition

This work is in very good condition. Varied greenish black patina. Some surface dirt in the deeper crevices and a few spots of accretion scattered throughout, primarily near the base at back of sculpture, otherwise fine.

Catalogue Note

The present work is one of only three known cast of this subject and the only example cast by Georges Rudier. One of the other examples, cast by Alexis Rudier, is in the Rodin Museum in Philadelphia.
