Condition
Executed on canvasboard. The board is stable. There is a light and irregular varnish preventing the UV light from fully penetrating; however, there do not appear to be any traces of re-touching visible under UV light. There is some gentle previous frame rubbing and associated paint losses to all four extreme edges and each corner is slightly scuffed, all of which are not visible when framed. There are some very fine lines of vertical stable craquelure to the centre of the sitter's hat and to the thicker right pigment towards the lower left corner. There is a faint sketch of a lady in profile on the reverse. This work is in overall good condition.
