Condition

The canvas is not lined. There is a slightly uneven varnish which prevents the UV light from fully penetrating, but UV examination does reveal some small spots of retouching in places along all four edges relating to previous frame rubbing and a small horizontal line of retouching to the centre of the upper left quadrant relating to a paint loss. There are some fine lines of slightly raised craquelure in places and a few tiny scattered paint losses. There are two pin sized holes along the extreme upper edge and two to the extreme lower edge. Otherwise this work is in overall fairly good condition.
