Provenance

Sale: Maurice Rheims, 3rd December 1952, no. 54
Ange Seidler (purchased at the above sale)
Private Collection (by descent from the above)
Acquired from the above by the present owner in 1994

Condition

The panel is stable. There is a layer of varnish preventing the UV light from fully penetrating, however UV examination reveals some spots of retouching to the blue background pigment, and an approximately 5cm. line of retouching across the right most flower, some spots to the vase and some minor spots to the centre of the lower edge. The colours are exceptionally bright and the texture varied. This work is in overall good condition.
