Condition
The canvas is lined. UV examination reveals retouchings along the left and centre of the upper edge, and a line giving definition to the left edge of the path as well as along the lower edge, below the child's hands and feet and another area to the right of the lady's feet. There is some craquelure, concentrated in the heavily impastoed areas such as the child's clothing and the path in the lower left quadrant, all of which appear stable. There is a small pigment loss to the centre of the woman's blouse. There is some minor abrasion on the left edge owing to previous mounting. Otherwise this work is in good condition.
Please note that the retouching has not been expertly applied and could be significantly reduced by a restorer.
