Condition
The canvas is not lined. There is a layer of varnish preventing the UV light from fully penetrating, however UV examination reveals no sign of retouching. There is a spot of paint loss to the pink in the sky, to the left horizontal band. There is some rubbing with associated tiny spots of pigment loss to the centre of the upper left and a tiny spot to the upper right corner. There is a fine vertical line of pigment loss towards the lower right edge and very fine lines of shrinkage noticeable to some of the thicker pigments. This work is in overall very good condition.
