  • enamel, yellow gold, quartz

• gilt lever movement, 15 jewels • silvered dial, guilloché center, Roman numerals to the matte chapter ring, pierced hands • jet case, bezel heightened by black enamel geometric design, the corners set with aventurine quartz, gold frame with braided motif and fleurettes to the corners, small monogram to the reverse • movement signed European Watch & Clock Co., Inc., dial signed Cartier, case hand-stamped with Cartier reference numbers throughout

Condition

The interior of the silver bezel bears the Cartier hand-stamped reference numbers 2056 and 1000. The interior of the gold frame bears the Cartier hand-stamped reference numbers 2056 and 1000. The ebonite case bears the Cartier hand-stamped reference numbers 2056 and 1000, as well as 1, 2, 3 and 4 to indicate where the pieces of aventurine quartz should fit. The strut has the engraved monogram H.C. S. on the upper portion, and the lower portion is engraved European Watch & Clock Co., 1000, inc. France., and the interior of the strut again bears the Cartier hand-stamped reference numbers 2056 and 1000, twice. Two of the pieces of green glass have been previously broken and are now back together. There is some evidence of a previous repair on the interior of the case back near the winding and setting holes.
