Condition
Movement running at time of cataloguing, however it was not tested for the accuracy of time and may need service at the buyer's discretion. All functions work properly. Case is in very good condition with very crisp lugs. Dial in excellent condition.

The "Mercator" series was first introduced in 1994 to commemorate Gerardus Mercator, the famous cartographer and humanist, on the 400th anniversary of his death. The case is inspired by a 1940s Vacheron Constantin model known as the "Geographique". The various dials depict the map of Americas or Australia, Europe, Africa and Asia as drawn by Gerardus Mercator in 1587.
