Catalogue Note

With an A. Lange & Söhne guarantee booklet, instruction manual and presentation box.

The 'Richard Lange Pour Le Mérit Tourbillon' is arguably one of the most sought-after models by A. Lange & Söhne as it epitomizes the high quality of materials used and the elaborate craftsmanship the company has become famous for. Historically the German term 'Pour le Mérite' was considered as the highest order of merit in Kingdom of Prussia in the 17th century.  As it is awarded as a recognition of extraordinary achievement, the criteria was extremely stringent. Embracing the same spirit, the process of making this timepiece was executed according to the highest standard for the purpose of precise timekeeping. The regulator dial features an ingenious system to reveal the oversized tourbillon carriage while improving legibility by automatically moving the section of the hour dial located between the 8-10 o'clock position into and out of view as the hours pass 6 o'clock and 12 o'clock respectively. Furthermore, this extraordinary timepiece is the first to combine stop seconds with a tourbillon mechanism. When the crown is pulled out, the tourbillon carriage and thus the seconds are arrested, allowing for maximum accuracy in time-setting. This model is unmatched in its harmonious union of history with innovation, and technical complexity with elegance, representing the ceaseless strive of the brand for absolute perfection in watchmaking.
