Catalogue Note

The first analogue quartz watch prototypes were developed by a cooperative research laboratory founded in the 1960’s, Centre Electronique Horloger (CEH) in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. They developed the first quartz-crystal watch with an integrated circuit called the Beta-21. This movement achieved outstanding results in the 1967 International Chronometric Competition, held at the Neuchâtel Observatory. CEH's Beta-21 prototypes achieved a new precision record for accuracy.
