Catalogue Note

This rare watch made in 1948, which was the first year of this models production, is a perfect example of Patek Philippe’s Avant-Garde style in the early 1950’s. With its stepped flame-shaped lugs, this watch stood out from the more classical round and rectangular shapes of the period and was highly distinctive.
A similar example is ilustrated in Huber M. & Banbery A., Patek Philippe Wristwatches, second edition, p. 171.
