The Hebrew inscription reads translated "This is the donation of Reuven Leppi and his wife Shincha (née Niehaus)" and the date reads "1844".

The later German inscription reads translated "To our friend Helmann from the Jewish community of Berlin". Below, in Hebrew, is the date "1946".
