on four ball feet, the top, base rim and sides engraved with scrolling foliage, the sides with sliding panels that open to reveal two tiers each engraved with Hebrew text, the top engraved with a German inscription and with an openwork border fitted with five detachable shell-form holders, two later

as noted re. the two later shell containers, silver largely rubbed off and base metal visible, two columns supporting openwork border with splitting where they are slightly pushed in, one shell container lacking mount prong
