Catalogue Note

The biblical book of Lamentations and accompanying Kinot (elegies) to be recited on the Ninth day of Av, in commemoration of the destruction of the Temple, according to the rite of the Indian Jewish community of Cochin. The Kinot section comprises twenty-three elegies, including works by Judah ha-Levi and Moses Ibn Ezra, written in Hebrew with a line-by-line translation into Malayalam. Ya'ari does not record a printed edition of this work.
