48 leaves (4 7/8 x 3 ¾ in.; 125 x 95mm), final 2 leaves blank. Written in brown ink on paper in Hebrew square script with vowel points (nikud), ruled in pencil; gatherings of 12 leaves; 13 lines to the page; ,slight worming, mostly restricted to margins, some browning due to ink bleed; Sassoon inkstamp, f. 46v, his bookplate on front pastedown endpaper. Contemporary half cloth, marbled paper boards.

Catalogue Note
The text comprises the order of the morning and afternoon liturgical services for the festival of Simhat Torah, according to the rites of the Indian Jews of Cochin. The rescension in the present manuscript is in agreement with the printed text found in Seder Tefilot Shevahot ve-Shirim ke-Fi Minhagei Anshei Shingili ve-K”K be-Kogin, printed in Amsterdam in 1757.
