Of hinged design, set with five oval-shaped rubies weighing approximately 5.50 carats, within frames set with round diamonds weighing approximately 3.45 carats, internal circumference 6½ inches, signed M. Buccellati, Italy.

Condition

In good condition, with some minor wear to the gold work, not readily apparent when worn. The rubies are a medium to medium-deep purplish red, moderately included with some abrading to the facet junctions visible under magnification. Two of the stones exhibit surface reaching cavities on the pavilion that are not visible when worn. The diamonds are approximately H-J color, VS-SI clarity. With Italian assay marks. Gross weight approximately 62 dwts, width 1 1/2 inches.
