The pendant set with three old European-cut diamonds weighing approximately 1.95 carats, suspended from a delicate chain composed of lonzenge-shaped links, the pendant and chain further set with numerous baguette, old European and single-cut diamonds weighing approximately 4.50 carats, decorated with calibré-cut emeralds, length 14½ inches; circa 1925; together with a 14 karat white gold carrier to allow for wear as a brooch.

Condition

In good condition, with some evidence of repair to a few of the links on the chain, not readily apparent when worn. The larger old European-cut diamonds are approximately J-K color, VS-SI clarity. The remaining diamonds are approximately H-J color, VS-SI clarity. The emeralds are decorative in quality. The brooch attachment may be later added.

Sol Lesser, an independent film producer in the silent movie era in Hollywood parlayed his adeptness at movie-making into the founding of a chain of theaters in California in the 1920s.  Missing the creative rewards of producing, he returned to the film business and produced many cinema successes; the most recognizable being the series of “Tarzan” movies.
