The spiral-shaped shells centered by and decorated with numerous mabé pearls measuring approximately 16.8 to 3.7 mm, the brooch accented by 7 cabochon rubies, the earclips accented by 20 cabochon emeralds, all pieces signed Fred Leighton, the brooch numbered T11824, the earclips numbered T8332.
Condition
All pieces in good condition. BROOCH: The silvery white shell with black banding is intact. The mabé pearls have a silvery white body color with soft rose and blue overtones. Several pearls with wrinkled skins and some scratching on the surface, principally on the largest one, fair luster. The rubies are a medium purple-red, slightly to moderately included, translucent. EARCLIPS: The white shell has some black and green banding and is intact, with some loss and repair visible on both clips. The mabé pearls have a silvery body color, medium luster, with wrinkled skins. The emeralds are a medium-light bluish green, moderately to heavily included, with several examples bearing surface-reaching fractures.
