The flowering vine suspended from a diamond-set backchain, set with numerous variously-cut diamonds weighing approximately 55.00 carats, length 15ΒΌ inches, several small diamonds missing.
Condition
In good condition, with some light surface wear and tarnish to the mounting throughout. Minor evidence of lead solder on the reverse. The larger rose, old mine, and old European-cut diamonds are approximately I-J color, predominantly SI clarity. The smaller diamonds, which include rose, old mine, single, and old European-cut diamonds, range from I-M color, VS-SI clarity with a few examples of I clarity stones. The flowering vine portion of the necklace may date from the mid 19th century, with a later added backchain. Diamonds missing from the bottoms of some of the petals, not visible when worn. Fitted with a safety closure.
