Centering a coral cameo depicting a male figure in Classical dress measuring approximately 27.0 by 21.0 mm, flanked by six coral cabochons measuring approximately 14.0 mm, each coral segment within scrollwork surrounds accented by 30 pearls measuring approximately 4.0 mm, length 13 inches; circa 1900. With box stamped F. Walter Lawrence.

Condition

In good condition. The coral is a medium-light orangy pink, slightly lighter in color than it appears in the printed catalogue. Presence of color mottling throughout. The carving is intact and the cabochon corals are very nicely matched in size, shape and color. The pearls are button-shaped to slightly baroque, they display a silvery to creamy-white bodycolor with pink and green overtones with very good luster. There is minor pitting and/or wrinkling visible on most of the pearls. The gold with minor discoloration, commensurate with age. Accompanied by a black velvet ribbon formerly used to back the piece.
