Set with an oval-shaped cabochon emerald measuring approximately 27.0 by 22.0 mm, suspended from a second oval-shaped cabochon emerald measuring approximately 17.9 by 15.3 mm, with two conical cabochon emerald accents measuring approximately 5.6 mm, set with old European and single-cut diamonds weighing approximately 3.00 carats, with eight cabochon onyx tablets, the dial framed within a modified Greek key motif applied with black enamel, with French assay marks and maker's marks for Verger Frères, pinstem missing; circa 1925.

Condition

In good condition. The cabochon emeralds range from medium to medium-light bluish green, heavily included with examples of surface-reaching inclusions and cavities throughout. The diamonds are approximately H-J color, predominantly VS clarity with a few SI clarity examples visible under magnification. The onyx and enamelwork are nicely intact and in good condition. Length approximately 4 1/4 inches. The mechanical movement is signed Swiss, 18 jewels and 4 adj. Inner caseback numbered 7085. The watch is currently inoperable due to the lack of a pinstem. Sotheby's will replace the pinstem for the purchaser, a process that will take approximately one month's time. Sotheby's cannot guarantee that the watch will return to its working condition after the pinstem has been replaced. Please see the Important Notice Regarding Condition of Watches on page 199 of the printed catalogue. Please note the stem and crown will be replaced by Sotheby's for the purchaser.
