previously surmounted by a clock, bearing the later plaque inscribed Donné à L'Imperatrice Joséphine par Napoléon 1806.

Please note that we do not guarantee the musical mechanism. Marble top with some chips, scratches, and small losses to corners and edges. Two corners restored. Ormolu mount surrounding marble with a break to one side. One 1/4 inch piece of ormolu border to top lacking. One mahogany panel to back is missing. Mahogany and ormolu decoration to side slightly loose in areas and some bands with ceramic beads now slightly bent. Two mahogany elements are lacking and two others are with breaks and slightly detached. Some ormolu elements to sides with restorations. Small ormolu band at top of mount (about 7 inches long) is later. Some blue and white jasperware beads replaced. Mahogany with scratches, abrasions and chips consistent with use and age. Marble base with small losses, chips, stains, and wear consistent with use and age.
