Vases à monter were produced at the Sèvres Manufactory from around 1764 and were retailed primarily by the marchand-merciers such as Poirier, who fitted them with their ormolu mounts. A garniture of three green-ground Sèvres vases of this shape but differently mounted was sold Sotheby's New York, October 23, 2013, lot 166.
