Condition
Beautifully made; nice figuring to veneers throughout; overall good, restored condition. The upper section appearing to retain its original bevelled mirror plates with minor pitting to silvering throughout and with small areas of crystallization to bottoms of mirrors. The key hole escutcheons to upper section replaced. Minor restorations to backboards and drawer bottoms throughout. Restoration to finish throughout but it does appear to have been sanded down. Brass hardware appears to be replaced. Back left corner molding to top of lower section replaced. Leather-lined writing surface appears to be old - possibly 19th century and with some minor scratches and wear. Restorations to veneers of feet. Overall with usual minor nicks, chips, and wear consistent with age and use.
