Catalogue Note

The present model exemplifies the Piedmontese taste for painted tôle decoration combined with the passion for chinoiseries. The local artisans were also probably inspired by the models produced for the Prince Regent for the Royal Pavilion in Brighton. An almost identical model now in the Fondazione Accorsi, Turin, is illustrated Vittorio Viale, Mostra del Barocco Piemontese, Vol. III, Turin, 1963, fig. 293.
