Description

The top serpentine at the front with molded edge, above a brushing slide and four long graduated cockbeaded drawers, all with floral gilt-metal drop handles, the whole raised on ogee bracket feet.

Condition

Overall in good, restored condition. The top with a repaired age crack to back edge with a thin age crack to back left corner; small loss to veneer on left edge. Left brass pull to brushing slide loose but present; slight lifting to facing of brushing slide at corners; brushing slide with age cracks. One replaced backboard with large fillet. Hardware appears to be 18th century. Restorations to drawer bottoms throughout; top drawer with replaced cockbeaded edge to left side; bottom drawer with replaced cockbeaded edge to left side and now with a loss (approximately 2 inches). Some pitting and oxidation to mounts. Wood casters possibly replaced. Surface with a new polish and with good figuring and color to mahogany. Overall with usual nicks, scratches, and wear.
