the celestial globe signed J& W Cary, the terrestrial globe signed G& J Cary.
Condition
Overall fair restored condition. The terrestrial globe with very minor separation at to the gores around the North Pole but are stable; there is a thin repaired crack running through the equator from the middle of the Atlantic Ocean through South American into the Pacific; the surface of the globe is mildly cleaned but has a nice patina; there are some minor areas of rubbing in places; there are minor inpainted spots to the South Pole; the stand is in good condition and is sturdy; the horizon ring with some stains and with rubbing; some minor nicks and wear to the edges of the horizon ring.
The celestial globe with old repaired break to the 'equator' with inpainting; inpainted repaired crack to the area around the constellation MELOPAR which is in the upper hemisphere; there are old repaired breaks with inpainting to the North Pole and South Pole of the globe; the stand is in good condition and is sturdy; the horizon ring with some stains and with rubbing; some minor nicks and wear to the edges of the horizon ring.
