Unique terre de faïence platter, 1954, signed in green paint and dated '7 Juin 54', glazed and painted, with the Madoura stamp

Condition

The ceramic is in good condition, there is mild crazing, three stilt marks on the reverse, both inherent to the production.

Catalogue Note

Picasso executed thirteen plates with variations on this motif for the 13th Congress of the French Communist Party. Each member of the Congress received one of the unique plates as a gift.  This plate belonged to Dr. Rosan Girard, deputy for Guadeloupe. 

This work is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Claude Picasso.
