Condition
Overall in very good original condition. This a rare commissioned dining table which retains the original saturated coloration throughout the decoration of the base, as seen in the catalogue illustration. The base some minor surface dirt, minor areas of concentrated oxidation, a few minor losses to the patinated surface and a few shallow surface scratches, all of which are consistent with gentle use and the natural aging process of the metal. The original slate top presents with minor surface scratches, some minor edge chips and some minor areas of scuffs. The a shallow edge loss measuring one inch in length. The slate top rests on a wooden panel that is edged with the gold foil decoration characteristic of the work of Phil Powell. A dynamic large scale work that encapsulates the strongest elements of Paul Evans' aesthetic.
Please note this piece is of considerable weight. Please contact the department or post sale services for assistance in the transport of this work. The slate top is removable from the frame for shipment of the table.
