Overall in very good original condition. The table is a rare motif by the artist from his own collection. The table top, as seen in the catalogue illustration, presents with gentle surface scratches and show very sensitive care. The edges of the tables with losses to the lacquer the largest measuring four inches in length. The losses are localized to the edges and do not interrupt the decorative scheme of the top. The losses to the lacquer, as seen in the catalogue illustration are to the full diameter of the edge, and approximately half the lacquer is lacking. With evidence of possible light restoration to stabilize some of the minor losses at some point in the piece's history. These losses could be easily restored or stabilized by a professional restorer. The black lacquered base with minor surface scratches, minor chips and a few scattered minor abrasions consistent with age and use. A wonderfully detailed decorative scheme to the top showing a wonderful contrast of in grisaille and colored decoration.
