Condition
Overall in very good original condition. The sconce when viewed in person with extraordinary depth to the sculptural elements. The alabaster depth with great coloration and great nuance throughout. The alabaster with surface scratches, minor oxidation and minor abrasions concentrated to the portion of the shade adjacent to metal frame. The recessed portion with some surface dirt. When illuminated and viewed in person, the alabaster presents with a warmer yellower hue. The metal portion of the design presents with a rich patina, showcasing a deep green and brown hue throughout. With minor rubbing to the patina. A few minor surface scratches. Some isolated discolorations and surface dirt to the recessed portions. There is some traces of white house paint to the portions adjacent to the wall, most evident at the figure's foot and lower portions of the proper left wing. The proper left wing of the heron with some white discoloration concentrated to the low point of the design which are minor and do not detract from the overall presence of the design. When viewed in person, this sconce has a deeply sculptural presence with wonderful nuance to the metalwork and alabaster shade.
