Condition
Very good overall condition. The color are more saturated when viewed in person than it appears in the catalogue illustration. The bronze surfaces with some shallow scratches and minute abrasions, consistent with age and normal use. The surface of the bronze with some traces of wear and rubbing to the patina, surface dirt and minor oxidation, consistent with age and normal use. Light surface rubbing to the ball under the shade. The lower portion of the leg with one minor area of discoloration, visible on catalogue illustration. The glass shade rests on a rubber disc, that is dry as a result of age. The glass surface with a few minor scattered surface scratches, mostly due to the rubbing of the bronze base. The glass with a few scattered air bubbles inherent in the making. The interior of the shade with some surface dirt, consistent with age and gentle use. The socket and switch appear to be replaced at some point in the lamp's history. The lamp is functional and fitted with a US standard cord and plug. A great example of the collaboration between Edgar Brandt and Daum, rare to appear at auction in this dimension.
