Condition

Overall in very good original condition. The leather of the seat has acquired a wonderful patina with age and remains soft to the touch. The leather seat with occasional small and minor areas of discolorations (visible in the catalogue illustration), shallow surface scratches and light crazing to the surface. There are two small areas of concentrated to crazing to the leather at the top of the seat (measuring less than one inch in diameter) which does not break the surface of the leather. The reverse of the seat back with some larger light discolorations to the leater consistent with gentle use. All the original brass tacks are in place and show expected discoloration commensurate with the natural aging process of the metal. The wooden feet with a few scattered surface scratches and abrasions consistent with gentle use. Overall the piece’s original condition has been sensitively maintained and displays a wonderful patina of age throughout. A deeply sculptural form to the chair that presents beautifully in person.
