Condition

Overall in very good condition. The shade with approximately 9 cracks to the glass tiles dispersed throughout. The shade had a previous old restoration to the bottom curtain register with 6 pieces of obvious replacement glass. The shade has been recently conserved by a professional Tiffany restorer, and these 6 tiles have been sensitively replaced with period Tiffany glass which is highly complementary in both its “ripple” texture and color to the shade. The patinated bronze surfaces of the base display a deep and rich marbled green and russet brown patina. The bronze surfaces with some surface scratches and abrasions, rubbing to the patina, and surface soiling to the recessed contours of the design consistent with age and use. The outermost perimeter contours of the cushion base with a few very shallow surface bruises, only identifiable by touch. All six of the sockets and paddle switches appear to be original and undisturbed. With an authentic period “Pigtail” finial which is in very good condition and displays a complementary patina to the floor base. An extraordinary example displaying an exceptionally striking color palette, showing a superb color transition from deep greens in the top register of the shade to fiery orange below. The lamp has tremendous visual presence when viewed in person.
