Condition

Overall in very good condition. The shade with approximately 9 cracks to the glass tiles dispersed throughout. The shade leading in the top three geometric rows has been stabilized in the past, presumably to stabilize leading separation in this area. There is no evidence of glass replacement throughout the shade. The harp-form base displays an outstanding rich russet brown and green patina. The bronze surfaces of the base with minimal surface wear, gentle rubbing, and light surface soiling in the recessed contours of the design consistent with age and gentle use. The surfaces of the harp and upper socket casing with some scattered surface scratches, abrasions and a few minor areas of patina loss. The telescoping device on the base functions smoothly, and the base retains its original decorative telescoping knob. With a replaced socket and paddle switch. A beautiful example of this exceedingly rare Azalea model displaying a varied and artistic glass selection. The blossoms are articulated in a wide range of reds and magentas offset by a rich cobalt blue ground. The lamp displays beautifully in person and is further enhanced by its charming and refined proportions.
