Overall in very good condition. With a few small and minute air bubble inclusions inherent in the making. The iridescence on the interior bowl shows an irregular fine craquelure, which appears to be inherent in the making as a consequence of the upper bowl being elongated. As is commonly seen in floriforms, the interior bowl with some scattered dark red spotting, which is inherent in the sprayed application of the iridescent surface treatment (not visually detracting). The bottom interior of the bowl with some fine surface scratches and small traces of possible calcification. A very impressive example displaying extraordinary scale and exuberant form. The interior of the bowl and underside of the foot are beautifully iridized, imparting the vase with a strong sense of luminous color and a range of brilliant hues. The top rim is vigorously ruffled, giving the vase strong movement and sculptural presence. This feature cannot be appreciated from the catalogue illustration, which was taken from a lower vantage.
