Condition

Overall in excellent original condition. The bench with a few small and minor surface scratches, abrasions and edge chips all consistent with age and gentle use. The proper left edge of the reverse of the backrest with an old minor edge loss, measuring approximately one inch in length. This does not detract from the lines of the bench and shows little difference in coloration, as it clearly occurred many years ago from use. The bench displays wonderful figuring and natural fissures in both the backrest and seat. This bench includes wonderful deep rosewood keys that offset the deep and saturated hues in the walnut figuring. A rare bench with the solid backrest featuring such dramatic free edges.
